Day 29 - Low light

Tried out some ISO 1600 shots.

Just this one, actually.

After resize, can't see much noise huh?

Day 28 - Flare

I swear no photoshop.

Day 27 - Everyday Items - Faucet

Maybe I should sometimes just look at ordinary things in another perspective. Easy no need crack my head over what to shoot.

Day 26 - A bit of Abstract

Failed shots of sorts. Decided to make it into abstract.

EDIT: Try to stare at this pic for a while. See if you can see something in it. Tip: it's an anagram of 'cafe'.

Day 25 - Photographic Journey in Melaka

A few of the more photography-related shots. Full blog post go to main blog.

This is the 2nd edit of the previous post. Doesn't look that overcooked, huh?

Day 24 - Sneek Peek

A little sneek preview of what's in store tomorrow. I'm sorry, but I have to use the shots from 1 day for 2 days' posts.

Stupid me forgot about fill-in flash.

Day 23 - Light trails

Was envious of Eugene's light trail shot he did on the IOI bridge. It came to me yesterday that there's a bridge near my house too. Went there juz now and boy the scenery was amazing. Minus the Indian bike gang hanging around there when I got there. Prayed that they go away and after a few minutes they really left. Cool huh? Set up after they left la of coz.

First few shots. Meh ordinary.

Then I turned my back and BAM there it was. The view is so gorgeous it was almost sexy. Cheated a bit with some touch-ups but still...

Portrait one. Not that much impact huh?

When I was hesitating whether I should pack up already, these few Indons walked towards me. Sheesh that was it, retracted the tripod and started moving. I was literally unmounting the camera while walking with the straps over my shoulders. LOL

Day 22 - I give up on rig shots

This is the tale of 2 racers...

One day, while Lewis Hamilton was cruising on the road...

A stupid Alonso appeared and tailgated him.

Hamilton took a quick corner, and Alonso was left behind. Nobody to follow, Alonso got lost in the housing area he raced Hamilton. See, till dark also cannot find his way out. You can almost see him cry.

Man gotta say I'm giving up on these shots. Taking pics of another moving car with the camera mounted on a car is hard. Unless both cars are pushed la. Man only about 5 out of about 70 were clear. lol...

Day 21 - Reflections

Not exactly a day of self-reflection. Just a reflection from a puddle, per se (not sure if I'm using this right).

Nothing to do, desaturated the pic, manually made it black and white.

Juz realised should've named the blog '365 Bumps and Bruises'. The B's rhyme more than 'knocks and bruises'. Hrmm...

Day 20 - Experimentation - Auto Rig

Due to the nature of this kind of photography, I only dare do it in daylight.

0-100kph in 3.2secs

Absolute stability in taking corners.

Belilah Waja. LOL

Day 19 - Experimentation - Reverse Mounting.

One of the ways of macro-ing with a budget lens is to reverse mount it. Been reading all about it even before I started shooting with the LX3. I forgot what triggered the idea but damn glad I tried it.

Un-cropped, no touch-ups. Straight from the cam, besides exporting from the software.

Day 18 - Walkabout

Been wanting to take a photo walk around my area and see what's there to shoot. A bit disappointed by my lack of skills but yeah, still found some shots for today.

2nd take on the sunset pics. This with a cooler WB.

This with a warmer WB.

Day 17 - Half-Full, or Half-Empty?

Half-full, or half-empty? I just want a freakin drink!

Day 16 - Pool

Not exactly first time playing pool, but first time took pics of pool. Poisoned someone to buy new lens. Hehehe.

Day 15 - A breakthrough, well sort of.

There's all this timidness in me about photography. One of them is asking a stranger's permission to take their photos. They say it's easy. Just say 'hi, can i take a picture of you?'. Well easier said than done. And that's true. It's pretty hard to say it out first, but as soon as you did it once, you can do it forever.

My first shot of a model, well the first 3 models anyway. Def not first shot la of coz. Like 5th shot or something like that. You get the idea...

It got easier when met with a friendly ambassador. This girl is bubbly and sweet. No joke. Cherry on a cake.

Pic awkwardly cropped to remove unwanted intruder. LOL.

It's even easier when they are on a platform and let you shoot at will (sounds weird, ain't it?). The ones taken straight on wasn't that great compared with this one (IMO la), taken after I got down from the platform. Something to do with looking at her from the side.

EDIT: Added the head-on shot:
I think it's my 'small dick' lens that made her smile like that.

Asked permission for this one as well. This one was quick. Snap in landscape, snap in portrait, move on. LOL I'll be offended if I were her. Didn't even have courtesy to show her the pics.

This was taken in plain sight of the ambassador, but w/o permission. I guess the expression says it all. Hahaha.

This last one also w/o permission. Saw a bunch of photogs shooting her, so hopped on. Didn't exactly get the eye contact but meh, does it for me. Shot cropped too coz the others really.... LOL

EDIT: Added Kaspersky girl.

All in all, def going to the next PC Fair to buff up my elephant skin and skills.

Day 14 - Malignant

This is the malignant part of the computer, removed for good.

Surprise of the day: Girls make good engineers. Yep, the technician that came to repair my laptop was a girl. GIRLS, GO UP YOUR COMPUTER SKILLS!

Day 13 - Textures

The buffer shot that shall be posted in this post shall be uploaded as soon as I recover it from my old hard disk.

Yes, HDD got corrupted all of a sudden. Dealt wit Dell whole day. No mood take pics.

K here's the buffer shot. Thought of textures.

Day 12 - Some Architectural Stuff (ok maybe just one)

Tried taking the camera to 'everywhere'. Today brought it to some place lah. lol.

Shot as intended. Building against blue sky. Of coz with some color tweaking...
Does it count as being architectural? Hey it's a building ma...

Play on diagonal lines/patterns.

f/1.8 blurred the foreground nicely. Dun enlarge coz even the subject is not in focus. LOL.

Day 11 - Slacking off 2

Another buffer photo. Thought that since yesterday been doin so much shooting, might as well take a day off. Hehe

I need ideas of things to shoot. Leng lui welcomed to model for me! I take nice nice pic for your FB yeah? (I do emphasise on the leng lui part XD )

Day 10 - Panning

I think I should count myself lucky. Photo opportunities popping up when I need it.

Was gonna post some crappy Forte 2.0 shots when it rained! Stranded under the rain. These cars came flying by and 'BING!'.

First few panning shots. Focus wasn't spot on.

Focus was best among all others. Too bad I dun really like the car.

And when I prayed for a black Civic to appear, a black Civic appeared. Sexy as Marilyn Monroe. Favourite shot as well coz the Honda shop signboard behind it kinda makes the shot work.

Day 9 - Birdie...

I think it's the bird's breeding season. Been hearing a lot of bird noises around.

Guess where this fella is going?

Jumpa awek ye?

Day 8 - Glass Bottle

Initially was going to post my last 'buffer' pics. Took some set-up shots of a glass bottle but didn't turn out great. Then I thought:"hrmm the purpose of this blog is for me to experiment wit photography. Might as well post the experiment results." and here you go, my results.

Again played with the hues coz the bottle turned out to be a bit yellowish which isn't pleasing. I doubt this green hue is any more pleasing. Haha.

I guess I can save that 'buffer' shot for a lazy day.

Day 7 - Macro

Got the tripod that was supposed to be in the package (that time no stock). Set up with my home-made softbox and took some macros.

Out with the old...

...and in with the new. LOL Like no diff one...

I'm glad I'm noob.
